Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, has underscored the role of the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) in advancing the emirate’s position as a global business hub. In remarks reported by Emirates 24|7, Sheikh Hamdan highlighted DWTC’s contribution to attracting international investment, fostering cross-border partnerships, and driving Dubai’s economic diversification agenda.
The Crown Prince’s comments follow the release of DWTC’s 2025 economic impact figures, which showed the venue generated AED 25.03 billion from large-scale business events — a record that reflects both the volume and commercial significance of conferences, exhibitions, and trade shows hosted at the complex.
Sheikh Hamdan noted that DWTC serves as more than a venue, functioning as an economic engine whose ripple effects extend across hospitality, transport, retail, and professional services. Business events at DWTC attract decision-makers from over 190 countries, many of whom go on to establish operations in Dubai’s free zones or invest in local ventures.
The Crown Prince also pointed to the emirate’s broader strategy of using signature events to raise Dubai’s global profile. Flagship conferences such as GITEX, Arabian Travel Market, and Gulfood consistently rank among the world’s largest in their respective sectors, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.
Government officials have indicated plans to expand DWTC’s facilities and digital capabilities to accommodate growing demand. The venue’s 2026 calendar includes several new events focused on artificial intelligence, sustainable development, and emerging-market investment — sectors that align with Dubai’s long-term economic priorities under the D33 agenda.
